Samantha Cook illustrated The Best Little Knitter in the West. This book is no longer in print. 

Samantha is a Nyikina woman from the Kimberley region of Western Australia.She has worked as the Indigenous designer for Magabala Books and was awarded National NAIDOC Youth of the Year in 1999. More recently, she was the Director of Australia's International Dreaming Festival at Woodford, Queensland. Sam is currently the Senior Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Advisor at the Western Australian Museum.
