CloseSally Bin Demin is of Aboriginal and Asian descent, and has lived all her life in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. At age fourteen she went to work at the Streeter and Male general store, then at Nulungu (St Mary's) College as a highly regarded teaching assistant for 25 years. She left the college to work in adult art education at the Jarndu Yawuru Women's Resource Centre. Since her retirement, Sally has focussed on her art. She has been named as NAIDOC Aboriginal Artist of the Year for her striking silk paintings.
