Robyn Caughlan

Robyn Caughlan is a Dharug woman from Western Sydney. She is a fashion and textile designer and painter and was voted Aboriginal artist of the year in 1990 and 1991. Her textile designs and fashions were showcased in New York and Milan and she choreographed her own fashion show during the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Her fashion work has included designs for the Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Teen Universe pageants and in 2003 she was the first Aboriginal woman to enter a ‘ready to wear’ collection to be included in the Mercedes Fashion Week in Sydney. Her Aboriginal ‘Wedding Dress’ is held in the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
