Michael (Boiyool) Anning is the illustrator of Jirrbal: Rainforrest Dreamtime Stories. This book is no longer in print.

Michael is a craftsperson immersed in the traditional culture of the rainforest people of the coastal area of north Queensland. In 1998 Boiyool became the first Queenslander to win a major prize at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in the Northern Territory. His work is represented in galleries and touring collections, including the Australian National University, School of Art Gallery, Canberra.
