Delphine Sarago-Kendrick is a descendant of the Yidinji and Jirrbal people of far north Queensland. She was born in 1958 and grew up around Innisfail and Ingham in Queensland. In 2001, she received an illustrating award from Black Ink Press and graduated with a Diploma of Visual Arts from Cairns TAFE in 2002.
