Daphne Punytjina Burton is the author of Kupi-Kupi and the Girl. This book is no longer in print.

Daphne was born in the bush at Tent Hill in 1944. She met her husband when she was a student at Utja school in the James Range, 240 kilometres south west of Alice Springs. She is a member of the school council, records Pitjantjatjara stories and teaches culture and religion to the children at the school. Daphne also sings in the Utju Ladies Choir.
