Betty Lockyer

Betty Lockyer (dec.) was born during World War II at Beagle Bay Mission spending her early years as one of the evacuees from Broome. When she was four years old, she returned to the Holy Child Orphanage in Broome before being reunited with her mother and family. Betty spent many years working in the area of Indigenous Health as a community worker and as Liaison Officer at Pundulmurra TAFE in Port Hedland. In 2003 she moved to Perth to study Health Promotions through the Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health. Betty is the mother of eleven children.
