Magabala Books is seeking a Project Manager to join our small, dynamic team for a very special project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander storytellers, writers, and illustrators across Australia.
The First Stories Collective Project Manager will utilise their high-level project management and community engagement skills to develop and implement Magabala Books’ program of activities as part of the First Stories Collective. The Project Manager will also work alongside Blak & Bright in a supportive capacity to assist in the development and delivery of overarching First Stories Collective activities.

FTE: Part-time 0.6 FTE negotiable with potential to increase hours
Salary range: $83,000–$93,000 pro rata full time Benefits
Contract term: Commence early July 2025. Fixed term to June 2028

Reports to: CEO while working collaboratively across teams
Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of Magabala Books’ program of activities for the First Stories Collective, a partnership initiative between Magabala Books and Blak & Bright. First Stories Collective provides services to First Nations writers and illustrators and support a strong, connected and vibrant First Nations literature sector.

We are seeking someone who is motivated and self-led, who has 2–3 years experience in a project or event management role.
