Magabala is so proud of all our authors and illustrators who have been recognised in the 2020 Australian Book Industry Awards longlist!

Magabala has three titles in the category of Small Publishers’ Children’s Book of the Year: Baby Business  by Jasmine Seymour, Cooee Mittigar  by Jasmine Seymour and Leanne Mulgo Watson and Little Bird’s Day by Sally Morgan and Johnny Warrkatja Malibirr.

Young Dark Emu, by Bruce Pascoe is longlisted for Book of the Year for Younger Children (ages 7-12),  and Kindred by Kirli Saunders is longlisted for Small Publishers’ Adult Book of the Year.

This is a record longlisting for Magabala titles and we acknowledge all our editors and designers who helped make these titles so exceptional!

The final shortlist will be released on Tuesday 28 April, with winners announced at the publishing industry’s Awards night on 13 May.⠀
