Magabala author, Bruce's Pascoe's award winning book, Dark Emu is set to become a major new dance work with Bangarra in 2018.

With tours set for Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne, the production explores the vital life force of flora and fauna in a series of dance stories directed by Stephen Page. He will be joined by composer, Steve Francis, set designer, Jacob Nash, costumer designer, Jennifer Irwin and dramaturg, Alana Valentine. Choreographers include Yolande Brown, Daniel Riley, and the dancers of Bangarra Dance Theatre.

Established in 1989, Bangarra is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation and one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies. It is widely acclaimed nationally and around the world for its powerful dancing, distinctive theatrical voice and utterly unique soundscapes, music and design.
